Lexington       June  2005

Goin' Up the River

This is our first trip of the season. We joined Mac Ray Yacht Club this year and this is also their first cruise of the season. We had been to Lexington once before, last year with a group from Colony Marine.

No guests this time, just the two of us. We left around mid-morning on Friday June 10th, and it was a great traveling day, sunny and fairly calm on this 2 1/2 hour journey.

Our slip at the Harbor was at the intersection of the main dock and the front 'T' dock. The docktail party Friday night and the Saturday morning breakfast were both set up right in front of our boat.

Saturday morning the upscale Weekends store in town opened up early for the women. In the afternoon we walked to the beach. The air temperature was in the 80's and hot, but a dip in Lake Huron at less than 70 degrees cooled you off in a hurry!

Saturday night the group had a buffet dinner at the marina restaurant, and afterwards a comedy troupe performed for our entertainment. They did some stand-up comedy, including ad lib and improv in the likes of the Whose Line is It Anyway? show with Drew Carey. A lot of audience participation and very entertaining. Later that night we "closed down the docks" with fellow boaters. Sunday was another beautiful day when we headed back to port.
